Our Story

Daniel Stavert 2017

Daniel Stavert hails from the Blue Mountains in Australia, which explains why he is drawn to the beauty of wild places, the extremes of cold and light, and an abundance of life. A curiosity for engaging in landscapes both physical and human led him from growing up in Sydney to a degree in history and geography at the University of Sydney. A desire to share the joy and unique nature of these places launched his career guiding people through wilderness.

For more than a decade, Daniel has taught and guided by kayak, climbing, trekking and small expedition vessels in remote Tasmania, the islands of Scotland, Norway and the North Sea, the coast of mainland Australia and Antarctica. He is a keen climber and kayaker. As an Expedition Leader for Nat Hab, he brings a love of sharing human story, remote coastline, and wild creatures, to his work and to deepening the experience of others.
