Isabel grew up in Braga, in northern Portugal, where an early love of the outdoors and local history shaped her passion for nature and travel. Drawn to the Atlantic coast, she eventually settled in Viana do Castelo, where the connection between mountains, ocean and rural life continues to influence both her work and daily life.

Isabel earned a degree in tourism from the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo and a master’s degree from the University of Vigo, focused on responsible nature travel. She later completed a specialization in ecotourism and nature guiding through the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She further developed her expertise through Rewilding Europe’s LIFE WolFlux program, focusing on ethical wildlife observation and interpretation, particularly of the Iberian wolf.

Over the years, Isabel has led hiking and nature-based journeys throughout mainland Portugal and the Azores while supporting international travel operations. She enjoys sharing Portugal’s landscapes, wildlife, traditions and history with travelers. She believes thoughtful travel can strengthen connections with nature while supporting conservation and sustainable tourism.

When she is not guiding, Isabel teaches tourism and ethics at the university level. She enjoys exploring new trails and caring for a small group of rescued animals who keep her grounded in the rhythms of rural life. Based in Viana do Castelo, she loves helping travelers discover the quieter corners of Portugal and experience the country's landscapes at a slower, more meaningful pace.
