Born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia, Tena grew up exploring the forests, hills and trails just beyond the city, experiences that sparked an early interest in the outdoors and travel.

She went on to earn a master’s degree in tourism at the University of Zagreb in Croatia and began her career in hospitality and international business in Croatia. That work eventually took her to a remote island in Cambodia, where she spent several years helping run a guesthouse and restaurant. As co-owner, she managed daily operations, led a multicultural team and oversaw the experience of more than 2,000 international travelers each year.

After returning to Croatia, Tena continued working in hospitality, wellness and event operations, including retreats and cycling events. Her connection to the outdoors also grew during this time, building on a trip to Nepal and later through mountaineering training and extensive hiking in Croatia and Slovenia.

As a guide, Tena loves bringing places to life through the stories, traditions and small details that reveal their character. She has a natural instinct for creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere where guests feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their experiences.

Outside of guiding, Tena enjoys hiking, traveling and cooking. She values the sense of discovery that comes from experiencing a place with curiosity and openness and enjoys seeing her home region anew through the perspectives of her guests.
