Fábio Paschoal2025
Fábio was born in São Paulo, Brazil, where he grew up surrounded by books, documentaries and an endless curiosity about the natural world. As a child, he loved visiting the zoo with his parents, and his shelves quickly filled with wildlife encyclopedias. National Geographic and BBC films opened his eyes to distant jungles and wild creatures, sparking a lifelong passion for nature.
That passion led him to study biology, but he soon realized that observing animals in the classroom wasn’t enough—he wanted to see them in their natural habitat. Fábio pivoted to tourism, becoming a naturalist guide in the Pantanal before leading expeditions in the Amazon Rainforest. There, he discovered the joy of sharing Brazil’s biodiversity with travelers from around the world.
His father gifted him a superzoom camera, and a new path opened. What started as curiosity soon became a calling. While working as a reporter and editor for National Geographic Brasil, Fábio realized the power of photography to inspire conservation. He immersed himself in light, composition and visual storytelling, forever changing the way he saw nature. His work has been recognized by WWF-Brasil and honored by the Brasília Photo Show in 2018 and 2019—one of Latin America’s largest photography competitions.
Today, as a Nat Hab Expedition Leader, Fábio blends science, storytelling and art to help guests capture more than just photos—he helps them connect deeply with the natural world.
What's in My Camera Bag
I like to keep my camera bag light, often only traveling with just 2 lenses: a zoom and a wide-angle. This keeps my bag small, allowing it to easily fit below the seat of planes, thereby avoiding the risk of gate-checking expensive equipment.
