Adam Parker

Adam was one of the true highlights of my trip. It is rare to encounter someone who combines such extraordinary expertise with such genuine warmth, generosity, and passion. Adam has an incredible depth of knowledge about the natural world. His understanding of ecology, science, animals, plants, and insects is remarkable, but what touched me deeply was his enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge with us. Whether we were observing a magnificent animal or discovering something tiny and easily overlooked, Adam had a story, an explanation, or an insight that made the experience richer. His curiosity and passion for conservation were contagious and gave us a much deeper appreciation for the extraordinary environment we were privileged to experience. And then there’s Adam himself! He is kind, thoughtful, patient, and unfailingly helpful. He was tireless in his efforts to make sure everyone was comfortable, engaged, and having the best possible experience. He brought a wonderful sense of calm and joy to every day. Adam is the consummate professional, but describing him simply as an excellent guide doesn't do him justice. He is an exceptional educator, a passionate conservationist, and, most importantly, an absolutely wonderful person. His knowledge and enthusiasm transformed our experience, and his kindness made it truly special. I feel very fortunate to have had Adam as our guide. He represents Nat Hab at its very best, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Anyone who has the opportunity to travel with Adam is in for something truly special!

At age 7, Adam tracked Africa’s Big Five on foot with his father in Zimbabwe—an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for the natural world. His early years were spent camping in the uKhahlamba Mountains of South Africa and exploring the wild coastline south of Mozambique.

Adam earned his professional safari guide qualification in 2012, allowing him to live full time in the wilderness. He has guided in the Sabi Sands in South Africa, Odzala in the Congo and South Luangwa, Kafue and Lower Zambezi in Zambia. Adam remains active in conservation across Africa, assisting with aerial surveys, wildlife monitoring and field research. A career highlight was spending eight months rehabilitating and releasing the first Temminck’s ground pangolins into Zululand after 70 years of local extinction.

Adam went on to become a specialist walking, canoeing and photography guide in Zambia, where he lived for four years inside national parks. As a Nat Hab Photo Expedition Leader, he blends his conservation background and guiding expertise with a love of photography that helps guests connect deeply to wild spaces.

Adam has guided film crews from BBC, Silverback, Plimsoll, Netflix and National Geographic, bringing a cinematic perspective to his photo expeditions. His fun, adventurous and caring nature is felt around the campfire—whether he’s sharing stories from years in the wild or creating new memories with those who travel alongside him.

My Packing Philosophy

Pack versatile gear first and specialist gear later. Pack your best equipment—secondary bodies and lenses can be added if the weight limits allow. A zoom lens in the range of 70-200 or 100-500 will make up the vast majority of your wildlife images. Bring a wider lens for scenic, cultural, landscape and astro photography. A monopod can be great too. Cleaning kits, filters and extras in a neat bag for bonus points!
