Jimmy Limbo 2017
Jimmy was born and raised in Namibia. Growing up in the small village of Mambali in the Caprivi region, he spent much of his time as a young boy in the bush, tending his family’s cattle and helping collect firewood and water. Jimmy forged his passion for nature during these years. While out in the bush, he passed the hours watching the animals and listening to bird sounds.
After he finished school, Jimmy volunteered for Integrated Rural Development and Nature Conservation, an organization that helps integrate tourism into the local communities. This was followed by a short military stint, but the call of nature was strong. Returning to his roots, Jimmy earned his entry level guiding qualifications and started working in the Kulala Reserve.
Jimmy continued his studies and obtained his national guiding certificate. For a time, he guided in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, then returned home to Namibia, where he has guided ever since. He has led safaris for a number of camps and also served as assistant manager at Desert Rhino Camp. Jimmy is an avid photographer and keen birdwatcher, and his enthusiasm and insatiable quest for knowledge ensure a life-changing experience for his guests as they join him in an exploration of his homeland.

The best thing I can say is that I left Namibia feeling like I didn't just get a guided vacation but that I knew the country in a more meaningful way having met and spent time with Jimmy Limbo. He was excellent at communication and setting expectations with the group. He had a breadth of knowledge about natural environments across Namibia and effectively explained the relationship between geography, weather systems and biodiversity. Days felt very comfortable and not like a tour bus! He engaged effectively with all members of the group, recognizing their interests and abilities and adjusting for their level of activity. He was very helpful and professional throughout, and I always felt safe.
Jimmy provided the type of professional leadership my wife and I have come to expect from a Nat Hab trip. He appeared to pay attention to all details, and was knowledge, kind, friendly and fun to be with.<br />
