Born on the Central Coast of New South Wales, just north of Sydney, Jacob developed an early fascination with wildlife. As a teenager, he worked at a local wildlife sanctuary, where he introduced visitors to Australia’s natural heritage, Indigenous cultures and native plants and animals.

Jacob earned a bachelor’s degree in biodiversity and conservation science from Macquarie University and a Certificate III in wildlife and exhibited animal care. His zoological experience includes caring for birds, marsupials, reptiles, primates and marine species, giving him a broad understanding of animal behavior and conservation.

His work has expanded from wildlife care and education into photography, videography and documentary storytelling. Recent projects include Return of the New Zealand Sea Lion, a conservation film about the species’ recovery, and promotional work for ecotourism initiatives in Ecuador’s cloud forests. He also uses photography and film to support conservation projects in Australia and abroad.

Jacob’s travels have taken him across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Namibia and Ecuador. As an Expedition Leader, he draws on his wildlife knowledge and visual storytelling experience to help travelers notice the details that reveal how animals and ecosystems are connected.

Now based on the South Coast of New South Wales, Jacob is rarely far from nature, with wombats and lyrebirds among his closest neighbors. He continues to pursue wildlife photography and videography and believes every landscape holds stories worth sharing.
