Petr Gheorghe2023
Born in Prague, Petr spent his early years at a Norwegian fishing camp operated by his family for 16 years. Each summer spent navigating stunning fjords, guiding fishing trips and absorbing nature's symphony fostered a deep-seated passion for nature.
Initially, Petr pursued a career in social and mass communication. After five years as a social media manager, he felt the call of the outdoors resurface. He embarked on a five-year global journey, living, working, volunteering and exploring everywhere from Hawaii to New Zealand before settling in Whistler, British Columbia.
With previous positions as a Field Operations Specialist and Tundra Lodge Assistant in Churchill, he became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in 2023. He finds deep fulfillment in showcasing the region's historical and natural significance to travelers. Petr believes in the power of storytelling and shared adventures to foster a sense of belonging and a commitment to preservation. You'll likely find Petr in BC's backcountry during his time off, carving tracks through fresh powder.
What's in My Camera Bag
I travel with a hard case for organization and durability, then switch to a Lowepro Fastpack 250 photo backpack on location. It holds my first aid kit, extra lenses, batteries, cleaning tools, water, and snacks—covering my daily field needs and making travel easy. I also bring a GoPro 10 Black for underwater shots and timelapses, plus K&F Concept NP-FZ100 batteries with USB-C ports, so I can recharge with a power bank even during -40° nights in Churchill.
