Mark Jordahl2016
With more than 30 years of guiding experience, Mark brings a lifelong passion for exploration and a deep commitment to connecting people with the natural world. His journey began in the wild waters of Alaska, where he led sea kayaking trips in his early 20s and discovered the joy of helping others experience remote, wild places. He later launched his own kayaking guide service off Whidbey Island near Seattle before transitioning to work as a naturalist at an environmental education center. That path eventually led him to Uganda, where he spent five years immersed in East Africa’s vibrant cultures and landscapes, expanding into international guiding.
Today, Mark is honored to guide for Nat Hab in destinations around the globe. He finds great fulfillment in helping guests meaningfully engage with the places they explore—through storytelling, ecological insight and genuine connection. His goal is always to foster broader perspectives and a deeper appreciation for the planet’s wild spaces.
He holds a master’s degree in conservation education and maintains a strong focus on the environmental challenges facing the regions where he guides. For Mark, guiding goes beyond travel—it’s about connection, awareness and stewardship. He feels privileged to help others discover the wonders of the natural world.
