Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, Marcela earned a degree in business, but a desire to explore beyond the office eventually inspired her to leave her job and travel the world. When she returned to Chile, she discovered the spectacular landscapes of Patagonia—and a new path rooted in nature, sustainability and adventure.

Marcela began guiding at a sustainable hotel in Torres del Paine National Park, an experience that introduced her to a different way of life and deepened her connection to the natural world. During eight years of guiding diverse groups in Patagonia, she developed a growing interest in natural history, wildlife tracking and the intricate connections between animals and their ecosystems. Her passion for mountains and pristine wilderness led her to focus on wildlife-centered adventures, helping travelers learn the art of tracking and gain a deeper understanding of animal behavior. An enduring curiosity about wild places and a belief in the transformative potential of sustainable tourism underpin her approach to guiding.

Today, Marcela proudly calls Patagonia home, where permaculture and sustainability are integral to her daily life and to her community. She believes meaningful encounters with wilderness can offer travelers far more than photographs or souvenirs, inspiring lasting connections to the places they visit and even changing how they see and experience the world.
