Hamza Raza Visram2024
Hamza grew up in Bukoba in Tanzania’s Kagera region, a vibrant town on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. His childhood surrounded by water and wildlife sparked a lifelong fascination with the natural world. He holds a Certificate and Diploma in Wildlife Tourism Management and has been guiding since 2010.
Hamza has broad knowledge of many areas within Tanzania National Parks, with extensive experience leading walking safaris, guiding photography expeditions and training fellow guides. He began his career at Rubondo Island National Park, home to an extraordinary array of birdlife and unique species such as spotted necked otters, chimpanzees and sitatunga. He later moved to central Serengeti, spending six years guiding in several camps including mobile migration camps, where he deepened his understanding of East Africa’s ecosystems and wildlife behavior.
Hamza's work has also taken him across Uganda, where he led gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. In addition to wildlife guiding, he has led cultural and town tours around Bukoba, sharing his knowledge of Tanzanian traditions and daily life.
Hamza became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in 2024. Today, he calls southern Tanzania home, working at Kwihala Camp in Ruaha and training and leading guiding teams in Nyerere National Park. Drawing on years of field experience, he mentors new guides and continues to inspire guests with his deep knowledge of African wildlife and passion for conservation and education.
