Blair Jones2026
Blair was born and raised in Texas, where her love for the natural world began at an early age. Inspired by her father and uncle, she developed a deep appreciation for wildlife and wild places. After earning a Bachelor of Science in wildlife biology, she began seasonal fieldwork, launching a career rooted in conservation and hands-on experience.
At 16, Blair took her first solo trip to the Galapagos Islands, an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for travel and exploration. Since then, her work has taken her across a wide range of ecosystems, working with species from prairie dogs and coyotes to chimpanzees and wild pigs.
Blair has spent summers guiding in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, leading black bear tours in Ketchikan and working as a bear safety guide among coastal brown bears in the village of Hoonah, Alaska. As a Photo Expedition Leader, she combines field expertise with a strong focus on helping guests improve their wildlife photography while fostering a deeper connection to the animals they encounter. Her work blends science, storytelling and stewardship, encouraging thoughtful, conservation-minded travel.
Blair is especially drawn to capturing close, portrait-style wildlife images that highlight the personality and beauty of wild animals. She values the moment someone sees a bear for the first time and the lasting connection it can inspire.
Blair spends her winters in the Florida Keys and her summers in Alaska.
What's in My Camera Bag
I prefer to keep a light and uncluttered bag. Sometimes I will just go out into the field with just my camera body and my long lens. When I'm traveling, though, I always have both lenses, my backup batteries and SD cards, my camera body and my computer.
