Ruben was born in Cusco and raised in an Andean family. His wife and two boys are his greatest inspiration, fueling his desire to protect nature and create a better world for everyone. Collaborating with local communities in the Amazon Rainforest reinforced his resolve to conserve the natural wonders of our planet, and he embraced the philosophy that as long as we care for nature, it will sustain us.

Ruben developed conservation projects while in university pursuing degrees in tourism and business administration. Upon graduation, driven by a passion for the environment and building friendships, he has thrived as an ecotourism guide since 2001. In 2024, he joined Natural Habitat Adventures as an Expedition Leader.

Ruben's hobbies include hiking and photography, with soccer ranking as his favorite sport, a game he still actively plays. He also enjoys cooking. His life and work reflect a deep commitment to sustainability and the joy of connecting with others through the wonders of nature.
