Ethan Browne2026
Ethan is from British Columbia, Canada. Growing up on Canada’s west coast, surrounded by mountains and the Pacific Ocean, fostered a deep connection to wild places that continues to shape his life and career.
His work has taken him to some of the world’s most remote environments. From sailing expeditions along British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest to voyages through the icy reaches of the Canadian High Arctic, Ethan has spent years working in regions that remain among the planet’s last true wilderness areas. His travels have included the Northwest Passage, Svalbard, Greenland, the Amazon, Antarctica, South Georgia and the South Atlantic islands of Gough and Tristan da Cunha.
Ethan has held a wide range of roles, including wilderness guide, logistics manager, photography leader, boat handler and aviation operations manager. His experience spans both small expedition ships and land-based operations, giving him a broad understanding of working in remote environments.
A devoted guide and interpretive naturalist, Ethan enjoys creating meaningful experiences for travelers that are grounded in a deep appreciation for the natural world. He is strongly committed to conservation and happiest when observing wildlife in their natural habitats.
What's in My Camera Bag
My packing philosophy for photo expeditions is minimalism. I take only what I need, ensuring my equipment is light enough to carry any additional gear. Waterproofing/weatherproofing is critical given the areas I operate in.
