Alicia spent her early years exploring California’s varied landscapes, but her first connection to nature began in her own backyard. Tracking black-capped chickadees and building makeshift nests sparked a lasting interest in native wildlife and plants.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies from the University of Colorado Boulder, her education strengthening her understanding of conservation and the relationship between tourism and environmental stewardship.

Alicia later worked as an environmental education intern at Thorne Nature Experience, assisting with outdoor programs and learning how nature-based education operates behind the scenes. That experience reinforced her commitment to sustainability and gave her practical insight into creating meaningful outdoor experiences.

Now based near Boulder, Alicia enjoys exploring new destinations, observing wildlife and spending time with animals. One of her most memorable trips took her to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she crossed suspension bridges above forested canyons. She draws inspiration from patterns found in nature through textile arts, including crochet and sewing her own clothing. In the kitchen, she enjoys preparing meals with fresh, garden-grown ingredients.
