Sara WendlingAdministrative Assistant
Sara was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, where access to wild landscapes shaped her appreciation for the outdoors from an early age. Growing up surrounded by mountains, water and open space fostered a lasting connection to nature and an interest in outdoor recreation and creative expression.
She attended the University of Portland, graduating in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a minor in sustainability. Her academic focus combined business skills with an interest in environmental responsibility and community-centered work.
While in school, Sara gained hands-on experience through a range of projects and internships. In 2024, she interned with Global Treks in Iceland, where she helped curate a hiking guide for the Golden Circle. She also organized a long-distance road bike race known as the Fireweed, an experience that reinforced her interest in supporting community initiatives and creating meaningful guest experiences in outdoor settings.
Travel has played an important role in Sara’s personal and professional development. She studied abroad in Rome in 2022, using weekends to explore cities and small towns across Europe. She has returned to Iceland multiple times, with Thingvellir National Park among the most memorable stops. She has also road-tripped extensively across the U.S. On a Nat Hab trip to the Himalayas, she observed snow leopards and wolves and spent time with a close-knit group of travelers.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping, road biking, swimming and cold dipping, creating multimedia art, baking and attending concerts.
