Liz HertzOperations Coordinator
Liz grew up on the coast of Connecticut, spending much of her childhood on Long Island Sound with her family, where her appreciation for outdoor adventure began. She earned a degree in international global studies from Sewanee: The University of the South, where her curiosity about people, places and the connections between them deepened. During college, she spent a summer hiking Spain’s Camino de Santiago, an experience that sparked her love for trekking, cross-cultural exchange and sharing meaningful travel experiences with others—an early hint at her future career in adventure travel.
Liz began her outdoor career in Charleston, South Carolina, where she worked as a naturalist and sea kayaking guide throughout the Lowcountry. She went on to spend seven years guiding professionally, leading wilderness expeditions across Alaska, the Desert Southwest and numerous U.S. national parks. Her trips have taken her from the remote peaks of the Brooks Range to the depths of the Grand Canyon and through countless miles of backcountry in between.
Liz deeply believes in the power of time outdoors to inspire connections between people and wild places. Now part of Natural Habitat Adventures’ Operations Team, she brings her guiding expertise and field experience to supporting trips around the world. In her spare time, Liz enjoys photography, live music with friends and anything that gets her out into the fresh air.
