Christy LavoieSenior Adventure Director - Southern Africa
Born and raised in the northeastern US, Christy spent most of her time outdoors, romping around in the forests, rivers and oceans with her brothers, riding bikes and playing sports. From a very young age, her adventurous spirit was fueled by travel and a steady influx of new places. By age 11, her first Spanish class sparked a life-long love of languages and cultural discoveries.
After participating in a full-immersion study-abroad program in Spain and earning a college degree, she spent the next several years traveling, living and working in different places, thrilled to be exploring the world, building meaningful connections and always learning and growing. Eventually, she fell in love with Colorado, decided to make it her home and found her way to Natural Habitat Adventures’ door.
Having been an Adventure Director at Nat Hab for nearly 20 years, Christy takes pride in creating unique itineraries, working closely with local communities and looking for ways to inspire others through meaningful travel. Moved by the deeply transformative power of travel, she strives to facilitate explorations in nature that inspire connection, awe and wonder. She likes to spend her free time making music & mischief, exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, being on the water or in the mountains, reading, biking, camping and creating.
