Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on a cold Super Bowl Sunday, Kristy likes to think she was destined to be a Packers fan. Growing up in northeastern Wisconsin, she spent much of her time outdoors boating, fishing, hiking and camping throughout the region's forests, developing an early connection to nature.

She attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, earning a bachelor's degree in journalism with emphases in public relations, advertising, news writing and editorial studies. After graduation, she moved to New York City to begin her career as an advertising account executive. While she enjoyed the energy of city life, she quickly realized how much she needed time outdoors to feel balanced.

As a little girl, Kristy loved spotting Colorado license plates on passing cars, so it felt fitting when she eventually made the move to Boulder. She spent several years working in marketing before discovering an opportunity at Natural Habitat Adventures that aligned with both her professional experience and her passion for helping people.

Kristy's travels have taken her from Paris to the French Riviera and throughout the Western Caribbean, where she developed a fascination with stingrays. Among her favorite adventures is Costa Rica, where the country's wildlife and wild landscapes deepened her appreciation for the natural world and introduced her to one of her favorite animals: the sloth.

When she's not working, Kristy enjoys hiking Colorado's foothills and mountains. She is also an enthusiastic foodie who loves cooking shows and experimenting with new recipes at home.
