Jennifer's interest in conservation began in North Carolina, where she grew up between Charlotte and the state's diverse mountain and coastal landscapes. Early experiences in the Blue Ridge Mountains, combined with an appreciation for North Carolina's coastal ecosystems, fostered a commitment to protecting natural resources. Learning about the history and cultural significance of the Cherokee Tribe further strengthened her interest in environmental stewardship, wildlife conservation and community well-being.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Environment & Sustainability with a concentration in Natural Science from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. During her studies, she examined patterns of biodiversity across rural and urban environments and assessed geospatial trends through research projects.

Jennifer's professional experience spans environmental advocacy, community outreach and sustainability research. As a community outreach assistant with Clean Water for North Carolina, she gained insight into environmental law and water rights while helping collect and map well water quality data for Asheville-area communities following Hurricane Helene. In 2025, she participated in a Rachel Carson Council cohort on Capitol Hill, advocating for legislation focused on air quality across the southeastern United States. She also earned the Path to Positive Climate Ambassador Certificate through CleanAIRE NC. Most recently, she served as a sustainability intern with Leitner Poma of America, researching renewable energy opportunities and incentives for facilities in Colorado and Utah.

Jennifer frequently travels to Mexico to visit family and holds dual U.S.-Mexican citizenship. She has also traveled throughout Puerto Rico and parts of Europe, including Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. She enjoys hiking, jogging, thrift shopping and supporting local businesses.
