Caroline DunnSenior Adventure Director
Caroline Dunn grew up in the southeast corner of Rhode Island, where she spent her childhood outside exploring the woods and beaches. These early experiences fostered a lasting appreciation and curiosity for the natural world.
She pursued undergraduate studies in psychology and Hispanic studies, a path that sparked a deep interest in travel and cross-cultural connection. Caroline went on to live and work throughout Latin America leading educational outdoor programs in places like Peru, Costa Rica and Ecuador. She later returned to New England to earn her master’s degree in Intercultural Relations with a focus on international service learning, further strengthening her commitment to connecting people and places in meaningful ways.
Caroline has spent more than a decade with Earthwatch Institute, where she has designed and led international research expeditions that connect people with scientists and conservation efforts around the globe. Her work brings together her passions for travel, education, and the natural world, creating transformative experiences that inspire participants to better understand and protect the environments they explore.
Caroline has been very lucky to have visited many countries around the world and is happiest when planning her next trip. When at home in Rhode Island, she continues to explore all this tiny ocean state has to offer. When she’s not working, she can often be found on the water—boating, paddleboarding, or kayaking—or hitting local trails on foot. She also enjoys yoga, staying active at the gym, a good book, and cooking (and eating) delicious food.
