Charlotte BassinGraphic Designer
Charlotte was born in Boston and grew up on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, the daughter of a French mother and Dutch father. Summers visiting family across Europe sparked a love of adventure and other cultures that have shaped her life and work. As a kid, she dreamed of becoming a wildlife photographer for National Geographic and filled the family’s pet-filled home with drawings and snapshots.
After receiving her first SLR camera as a high school graduation gift from her dad, Charlotte took a gap year to travel with a camera, journal and sketchbook. That year on the road cemented her passion for storytelling through images.
Over the next decade, she studied fine art, photography and computer graphics while continuing to roam, visiting 30 countries before turning 30 and living in the UK, Italy, India and Australia. She learned to speak French, Spanish and Italian. Her travels have included trekking in the Himalayas, sleeping under the stars in the Sahara, riding a camel past the Egyptian pyramids, scuba diving the Blue Hole in Belize, bathing with elephants in Thailand and photographing wildlife on safari across Africa.
Then she met her future husband—on a plane, of course! They settled in Colorado, where she raised two daughters and built a career as a web and graphic designer, photographer and professional artist. Charlotte has created more than 150 artistic world maps plus several public art pieces commissioned by resorts, campuses and private collectors. See her art at wanderwonder.art
As a designer and photographer, she has collaborated with organizations such as Vail Resorts and the Denver Zoo, and she freelanced for Nat Hab for six years before joining the team full time. Today, she hopes working with Nat Hab will help her reach her next dream—exploring Antarctica, the last continent on her list—and keep finding beauty and meaning in every corner of the world.
