Heidi AndersonPresident
As president of Natural Habitat Adventures, Heidi brings a global perspective and deep commitment to conservation travel. Born in Columbia, she spent her early years in a remote village in a stilted, mosquito-net-walled home above the jungle floor. Her family later lived in Panama, Southern California, and finally Oklahoma, where camping trips in the mountains and along lakeshores nurtured her love of the outdoors.
Heidi earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Accountancy from Penn State and began her career with KPMG in Denver, where she obtained her CPA license in 1995. Surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, she quickly embraced Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle—snowboarding, hiking, snowshoeing and camping.
Her passion for meaningful travel led to voluntourism trips in Guatemala and El Salvador, where she reconnected with her Central American roots and supported local communities. She also developed a love for sailing and scuba diving, particularly in Belize and Panama.
Before joining Nat Hab, Heidi founded and led a staffing company that grew to 26 franchises in 10 states. Her career has spanned accounting, entrepreneurship and executive leadership. At Nat Hab, she blends her financial acumen with strategic vision, cultivating a mission-driven culture that supports both people and planet.
Heidi’s role as president encompasses far more than numbers: she drives innovation, champions team wellbeing and fosters partnerships that advance conservation through travel.
