Most Earthwatch Expeditions take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All field research trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate on this expedition, you must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Guests can expect full, active days that combine hands-on wildlife research, conservation experiences, and traditional safari activities in vehicles.
Research activities will require working outdoors for extended periods from inside research vehicles and occasionally on foot.
Early mornings are likely, with schedules sometimes adjusting around wildlife movements.
Walk over uneven, rocky terrain for short periods of time up to one mile (1.6km)
Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods may be required during research activities.
Be able to get down to ground level for measurements and stand back up without assistance.
Sit for long periods in an open vehicle traversing bumpy, uneven, often unpaved roads.
Be comfortable climbing into and out of elevated safari vehicles.
Transfers between regions may be by small bush aircraft.
This expedition takes place in remote wildlife areas where facilities and transportation may not meet typical accessibility standards.
This expedition is not suitable for participants who have mobility limitations, back injuries or conditions that affect balance, bending or extended time sitting in a vehicle over bumpy roads.
Be alert and ready to take evasive action from wildlife - moving quickly, returning to the project vehicle, and following verbal instructions, as necessary
