Our Mission

Earthwatch Expeditions mobilizes people to advance environmental science and protect the planet through hands-on research alongside world-class scientists.

Protecting the natural world begins with understanding it. Earthwatch Expeditions adventures bring people into the research shaping how wildlife, ecosystems and our changing planet are studied and protected.

Through hands-on fieldwork, participants work alongside world-class scientists to collect data that strengthens long-term studies of environmental change and informs real conservation decisions.

But the impact goes beyond the data. Discovery transforms perspective. When people take part in research, curiosity becomes commitment, and awareness becomes action.

We are building a global community of people who do more than care about the planet—they help discover, understand and protect it.
