Earthwatch Expeditions Trips

Join scientists studying how changing floods and droughts affect Amazon wildlife in one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems.

Track wild rhinos, take part in horn trimming to reduce poaching risk and safari across South Africa’s Greater Kruger and red dunes of the Kalahari.

Spend hours observing wild elephant families in South Africa, help researchers identify individual animals and assist during a rare veterinary collaring operation to support elephant tracking and reduce conflict with nearby communities.

Join scientists in Costa Rica to monitor nesting leatherback sea turtles, helping protect a critically endangered species whose population has declined by more than 90 percent.

Gain rare access to active owl research in Arizona's Chiricahua Mountains, searching for hidden nest sites, assist with banding efforts and encounter some of North America's most elusive forest owls.

Track desert-adapted rhinos and safari among Namibia’s iconic wildlife, then go behind the scenes with cheetah researchers to encounter rescued cats up close and help reveal how habitat restoration can protect wild cheetahs.

Study sharks where they’re actually fished in Belize, working with researchers and local fishers to help balance marine conservation with local livelihoods.

Track Iceland’s unique orcas as they hunt across the food chain, helping scientists uncover how flexible feeding shapes survival in a changing ocean.

Track endangered black rhinos on foot with scientists beneath Mount Kenya, gathering clues to help protect their habitat. Visit the world's last two northern white rhinos, then venture north to meet rescued elephants and their Samburu keepers.

Join scientists in Baja’s Sea of Cortez to study humpback whales, dolphins and whale sharks while exploring the rugged coastlines of La Paz and Todos Santos. Photograph wildlife, listen to whale song through underwater hydrophones and help researchers understand how changing ocean conditions are affecting these iconic species.

Walk through Big Five country in search of rhinos, elephants and elusive predators, following research routes closed to regular safari visitors and contributing to wildlife conservation in South Africa's historic rhino stronghold.

Track wild bees through Costa Rica’s cloud forests, farmlands and mountain valleys while working alongside scientists studying one of the most important—and least understood—pollinator systems in the tropics.

Join scientists in Churchill to track permafrost thaw and shifting ecosystems while observing polar bears gather along Hudson Bay, revealing climate change in one of Earth’s fastest-warming regions.

Work alongside researchers in Acadia’s lesser-known landscapes, contributing to science that helps protect the park’s future.

Follow endangered lemurs through Madagascar's lush rainforests, observe their family groups with Malagasy researchers in Ranomafana National Park and contribute to decades of field research helping protect these rare primates and their forest habitats.

Be part of restoring a critical landscape in Kenya, working with scientists and Maasai landowners to rebuild wildlife corridors and revive a degraded ecosystem.
