After graduate school, Seth led two semesters of a study-abroad program in Cuenca, Ecuador, focusing on the ecology of the high-altitude grasslands characteristic of the Andes. He then spent a season as a climbing ranger at Mt. Rainier National Park before moving back to Fairbanks, where he's happiest. There, he returned to carpentry and picked up more outdoor activities like long-distance ski touring, packrafting and mountain biking. As he continued to juggle work and adventures, his lifelong passion for photography and storytelling began to appear as a possible profession. Seth currently describes himself as "a professional photographer who will do anything for money." Now, he picks up any work that sounds like an adventure, whether it's photography, carpentry, operating heavy equipment, or one of the many other uniquely Alaskan jobs—but it's being a tour guide and sharing the myriad wonders of Alaskan nature with travelers that gives him the greatest gratification, especially when he is able to help his guests capture the majesty of the northern wilderness in outstanding photos.
