Physical Requirements
Most Earthwatch Expeditions take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All field research trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate on this expedition, you must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Be able to walk on and off-trail in the forest over uneven terrain
Be comfortable in the dark to fully participate in nocturnal activities and research
Be able to climb a 16-foot ladder to access nests; those unwilling to climb may still participate in the expedition but will miss out on an integral part of the experience.
Ambient temperatures can fluctuate dramatically, from high desert heat in Tucson to hot mountain days and cooler mountain evenings

The research station is located at 5,400 feet. Research sites can ascend up to 8,500 feet.
