Sam Anthony

After working as an environmental and outdoor educator and doing university research on sustainable tourism, Sam and a close friend were inspired to start their own small outfitting business. His experience organizing and guiding backcountry canoeing expeditions on Manitoba’s legendary whitewater rivers, as well as running wilderness education programs for schools across the province, led Sam to becoming a Natural Hab Expedition Leader in Churchill. He is fascinated by life on the tundra, and the lives of the incredible and intelligent polar bears and other wildlife that call that landscape home.
After the rivers freeze up and the bears head back out onto the ice, you’ll either find Sam skiing and relaxing at home in Winnipeg, or off looking for his next favorite travel destination in some far-flung corner of the globe.

“What a delightful Expedition Leader and human being! Sam stayed on top of all details and was keenly desirous to meet our needs. I was particularly touched by his love of nature, passion for wildlife and comfort with adventure. Upon finding I am a birder, he reached out to local bird expert to join us on our second tundra outing! This far exceeded my expectations.”
