Brad Hansen

A love for Africa and its animals is in Brad Hansen’s blood. Born in South Africa, where he studied agriculture, Brad decided to follow his passion for African wildlife by pursuing a full-time career as a private safari guide. He has undergone extensive training to become certified by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa, an organization that promotes responsible, conservation-minded tourism, and is also a highly trained tracker, utilizing computer-assisted CyberTracker technology. When Brad moved to Tanzania to become managing director of an Arusha-based tour operator, he led numerous safaris along Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. As he became intimately acquainted with the region, he established his own private guiding company via which he has become one of NHA’s outstanding Expedition Leaders in Africa. In between guiding trips, Brad has been a team member on numerous expeditions throughout Africa run by a leading National Geographic filmmaker.

Praise from Nat Hab Travelers:

L. Warren

"Brad MADE THE TRIP. He was a perfect blend of knowledge, good humor and communication, and he integrated into our family during the trip. He is a fascinating guy living a fascinating life but is 100% down to Earth and approachable. He made our family feel safe, informed and amused all at once. He is a gem."

J. Anderson
"Brad was wonderful. He paid attention to every detail. He was very knowledgeable and communicated a wealth of knowledge to us. Brad was extremely fun and professional. If I ever had a chance to return on safari I would definitely want Brad as the Expedition Leader. Brad is a definite asset to your team."

D. Clarke
"Brad is an exceptional Expedition Leader. He is very knowledgeable, sets good daily itineraries and is personable and helpful during the daily events. He is a very good photographer and was very helpful in helping me to get great photos from my Nikon D-610 which was a fairly new camera to me."

P. Roberts
"Brad was an outstanding Expedition Leader. His knowledge of the wildlife was great and his ability to spot animals while on our trip was very good as well. Brad always worked to show us a number of habitats and animals."

L. Sullivan
"Brad was a capable Expedition Leader and clearly passionate about his work. He was a good storyteller; was motivated to keep guests engaged, comfortable and informed; and had a fun sense of humor."
