Tricia grew up on the Chesapeake Bay in the rural Northern Neck of Virginia, where every waking moment was spent outside, usually climbing trees, building forts in the woods or attempting to catch crabs off of her dock. Her interest in travel was first sparked in middle school with a service trip to the Dominican Republic. This cultural experience spurred her on in high school to visit Uganda where she taught English to school children through singing songs, and they in turn taught her tribal dances. Experiencing other cultures quickly became Tricia's passion, so she headed to Virginia Tech to earn a business degree, specializing in tourism management and international business. There, she fell in love with the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and excitedly explored her new playground either hiking, camping, or whitewater rafting. Having caught the travel bug, she spent part of her second year studying international business in France and Germany. While Tricia was in Europe she visited as many countries as possible and somehow ended up swinging through a canyon in the Swiss Alps at the end of a bungee cord. Upon returning to the U.S., Tricia couldn’t sit still, so she promptly left again to spend her spring break in Costa Rica volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation center.
After completing her studies and working for a time as an event coordinator, Tricia found her dream job with Nat Hab, and immediately felt at home with this new family of fellow travel and outdoor enthusiasts. During her time with Nat Hab as an Africa Adventure Director, Tricia has experienced the magic of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania. She has also been lucky enough to visit Ecuador and the Galapagos islands, and most recently, India!
When she is not off exploring new places, Tricia spends her free time riding her horse, Bear, finding tranquil lakes for kayaking, or (her favorite pastime) snuggling around a campfire with her husband and two pups.
