Nat Hab Conservation & Community Initiatives in Churchill

As one of the first companies to operate polar bear adventures in Churchill more than 30 years ago, Natural Habitat Adventures has become intimately acquainted with the community and region since. We are committed to preserving the environment and wildlife of Churchill and Arctic Canada, and conservation travel helps accomplish this. Through operating environmentally sensitive polar bear expeditions for hundreds of visitors each year, we contribute financially to Churchill while using travel as a means to raise our guests' awareness and inspire their own conservation efforts. Natural Habitat Adventures also contributes to World Wildlife Fund’s efforts in the area, as well as to the whole of its Arctic programs. Whether it be through increasing our scientific understanding of polar bear behavior, understanding the effects of diminishing sea ice on the entire ecosystem, or how best to minimize human-wildlife conflict in polar bear habitat, together we are making strides to protect polar bears and their natural habitat. Our goal is to go beyond merely showcasing nature and wildlife in order to directly contribute to the wellbeing of Churchill and the surrounding environs that sustain its resident wildlife.
