Visit five locations in 12 days
Three days involve more than four hours of overland travel; including one day with approximately seven hours of driving
Travelers must be able to walk at least 2 miles unassisted to join the trip, and should expect to walk 2-5 miles each day
Walks range from 1-4 miles each, with many hikes adjustable in length
Travelers must be able to walk up and down stairs to board vehicles and access accommodations. Riads and kasbahs often feature steep stairs, and some rooms and common areas may only be accessible by stairs
Terrain includes uneven pavement, gravel, dirt paths, rocky and uneven ground, soft sand, roots, and natural mountain trails. Walking surfaces may be irregular, damaged, or slippery in places
Most of the tour will be in vans, either Mercedes Sprinters or similar
Travel to and from Erg Chigaga will be in 4x4 vehicles
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Daytime temps range from 60–100°F
Nighttime temps range from 30–55°F
Erg Chigaga & Zagora: hot, dry desert climate; hot days and cool nights with significant temperature swings
Skoura: warm to hot days with cooler evenings; generally dry year-round
Ourika Valley & High Atlas foothills: cooler and more variable; occasional rain possible, especially in spring and late fall
Elevation ranges from 1,500-7,600 feet throughout the trip
Most of the trip is spent between 1,500-4,000 feet
Our lodge in Ourika Valley sits at 3,000 feet
Elevations in the High Atlas (Ourika Valley) can reach as high as 7,600 feet
