A very important feature of our Japan cultural journey is the limited group size, capped at just 12 travelers. This isn't simply a number; it's the key to unlocking the most intimate and authentic cultural experiences Italy has to offer. Because we keep our groups small, we’re able to access exclusive visits, charming restaurants, and immersive local experiences that simply aren’t possible for larger tours. From private tastings to insider encounters with artisans and chefs, our group size opens doors.

Staying small also allows us to enjoy the warm hospitality of the boutique hotels and historic places that host us along the way. And just as importantly, our limited footprint makes for a quieter, more personal pace with less impact on the communities we visit, ensuring the journey is more meaningful for both travelers and the people who welcome us.

Accommodations, services of Nat Hab's professional Expedition Leader(s) and local guides, all meals from lunch on Day 1 through breakfast on final day, some alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, passage aboard the bullet train from Tokyo to Toyama and Toyama to Tsuruga, all activities and entrance fees, all taxes, permits and service fees.

Travel to and from the start and end point of your trip, some alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, laundry and internet, etc.), required medical evacuation insurance, optional travel protection insurance.

This itinerary is thoughtfully curated through our meaningful connections within these communities, ensuring a unique encounter with Japan's living heritage.

This trip begins in Tokyo and ends in Kyoto. Because this is a long international journey, we recommend that you arrive the night before Day 1 to rest from your travels and begin the trip refreshed. For guests who come in early, recommended hotels will be included in your pre-departure materials.

If you plan to arrive on Day 1, you must arrive in Tokyo by 8 am in order to meet your group at 10 am for an orientation and lunch, followed by afternoon guided activities.

You may depart Kyoto at any time on the final day.
