Late spring through early fall is an ideal time to visit the Cotswolds because the weather is mild and the countryside is at its most vibrant. During this period, the rolling hills and charming villages are adorned with blooming flowers, lush greenery and, in early fall, colorful foliage. The pleasant temperatures make it perfect for outdoor activities like walking tours, exploring historic sites and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

The South of England, like much of the United Kingdom, enjoys a temperate maritime climate shaped by weather systems coming off the Atlantic Ocean. Summers are typically warm and comfortable, with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures in July and August can sometimes reach the high 80s° F and low 90s. Late spring and early fall are cooler, and evenings are chilly year-round. There is almost always a chance of rain, no matter the season. To be prepared for these variable conditions, we recommend that you bring layers of clothing, and don’t forget your waterproof rain gear!

It's best to pack layered clothing to adjust to changing temperatures throughout the day. Include lightweight shirts and a warm sweater or fleece for cooler mornings and evenings. A waterproof jacket is advisable due to occasional rain showers. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring the villages and countryside. Don't forget accessories like a hat and sunglasses for sunny days.
