Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Travelers must be able to hike 3 miles unassisted along a variety of terrain and should expect to walk a total of 2-4 miles per day
Hikes range from 1-4 miles each; travelers should expect 2-6 hours of physical activity on several days, except for the Tiger's Nest on Day 11
Terrain includes gravel, pavement and dirt paths, uneven ground with inclines, and many stairs while in Bhutan
Most hikes are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation
For hikes longer than 3 miles, shorter alternatives may be available; longer hikes may be offered for more active travelers at some locations
The Tiger’s Nest hike is strenuous—6 miles round-trip with 3,000 feet of gain and about 1,500 stairs—requiring good balance and mobility; two rest points offer temple views without completing the full hike, and mules are available only for the first segment (200-lb weight limit)
Most roads in Bhutan are narrow, winding mountain roads with sheer drop-offs
Travel by large bus, coaster van, 4x4 safari jeep with cover and private car for airport transfers
This trip includes four commercial flights; travelers must independently manage themselves and their luggage through busy airports, including climbing stairs to access planes and terminals
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Travelers must be fully mobile and physically independent
Daytime temps range from cool to very hot, depending on the month
Overnight temps can be cold, especially in February
Nov–Dec: cool and dry
Feb: cold and often foggy in Nepal
March warms up and April can be very hot
Prescribed burns of elephant grass occur periodically in Chitwan National Park throughout the year
Tiger’s Nest hike reaches approximately 10,300 feet
All areas visited in Bhutan are above 4,000 feet; several exceed 7,000 feet
