Physical Requirements

At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Trip Pace

  • Visit five locations over eight days

  • Early mornings and late nights are scheduled to allow maximum time for wildlife viewing and landscape photography

Walking & Terrain
  • Travelers must be able to walk at least 1 mile unassisted on a variety of terrain.

  • Hikes range from a few hundred yards to 1 mile; travelers should expect 1-3 hours of physical activity daily

  • Most walks are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation

  • Terrain includes gravel, pavement, boardwalks, and dirt paths, sometimes on uneven ground and possibly muddy or slippery surfaces

  • For hikes longer than 1-mile, shorter alternatives may be available; longer hikes may be offered for more active travelers at some locations

  • Activities take place at higher altitudes (up to 10,455' above sea level), where even basic exertion may feel more strenuous

  • Alternative activities may not be available for travelers who choose to opt out of the scheduled hikes

  • Travelers must be physically independent and able to maintain balance to participate in planned activities
