Group Size
As this is an optional pre-trip extension, group size may vary, but is limited to 11 travelers.
Included
Trip price includes: Accommodations, meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 5, breakfast on Day 6, services of local guides and lodge staff, most gratuities, airport transfers, permits and entrance fees, all taxes.
Internal air cost includes: All flights within the itinerary (this will be listed separately on our invoicing).
Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of the trip, alcoholic beverages, lunch and dinner on Day 5 and lunch on Day 6, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, airport and departure taxes, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), optional travel insurance, required medical evacuation insurance and optional activities.
Physical Requirements
Moderate
This trip involves several walks, to enjoy all activities, guests should be able to comfortably walk 1-2 miles over uneven and often slippery terrain. Days involve drives on winding coastal roads.
Getting There & Getting Home
This trip begins in Auckland on New Zealand’s North Island. Because this is a long international journey with a significant time difference, we recommend that you arrive at least one day prior to Day 1 to rest from your travels and begin the trip refreshed. For guests who come in early, recommended hotels will be included in your pre-departure materials.
If you plan to arrive on Day 1, you must arrive in Auckland by 4 pm in order to join your group for the welcome dinner.
At the trip’s completion, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Dunedin in anticipation of the start of your New Zealand Nature Explorer tour.
