Akagera National Park Extension

This is a customized extension and there is no group size limit.

Transfers and accommodations as noted, meals and some drinks as specified in your confirmed proposal (meals include lunch on arrival at Magashi Camp through lunch on the last day), shared daily wildlife drives and activities as described in the itinerary, services of local camp guides and staff, and all park, camping and conservation area fees and taxes.

Travel to and from start and end point of trip, any meals and drinks not specified in your confirmed proposal, services of a Nat Hab Expedition Leader (this can be booked upon request at an additional cost), private vehicles if required, gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes, any increase in park, camping or conservancy fees, optional travel insurance, and required medical evacuation insurance.

Easy to Moderate
A safari vehicle frequently offers a bumpy ride. Wildlife drives often involve long hours of sitting and occasionally, bouncing around. While we don't consider this strenuous, it can be uncomfortable and may pose a physical demand on the body. All travelers must be able to climb into and out of raised 4x4 safari trucks. They must also be able to walk to and from the vehicle to our camp accommodations, which sometimes involves walking over uneven ground or on boardwalks. Additionally, while any short walks (if feasible given the conditions) are considered optional, you will get the most out of your safari experience if you can walk a mile or two over uneven ground without assistance. Days spent on safari can be long, as mornings typically start before daybreak and evening meals are served after sundown. We recommend that all travelers have an adventurous spirit, as they will often enjoy the closest animal encounters.

This trip begins and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. Because this is a long international journey, we recommend that you arrive at least one night prior to Day 1 to rest from your travels and begin the trip refreshed. For guests who come in early, recommended hotels will be included in your pre-departure materials. As this is a customizable extension, you may arrive anytime on Day 1, but please confirm your finalized itinerary with your Adventure Specialist before booking flights.

You may depart Kigali anytime after 6 pm on the final day, pending confirmation of your personalized schedule.
