Physical Requirements
At Terra & Tu, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature and cultural encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Spend 4 nights aboard a boat making stops at multiple sites along the Nile
One day involves over 4 hours of combined air and land travel
Travelers must be able to walk at least 1 mile unassisted to join the trip
Walks and tours typically do not exceed 1 mile; travelers should expect to be on foot for 2-3 hours on several days
Travelers must be able to walk up and down steep stairs to board vehicles and access sites and accommodations. Boats are boarded via narrow plank walkways, while rooms and common areas at some accommodations are only accessible by stairs
Terrain includes uneven pavement, gravel, dirt, rocky and uneven ground, soft sand, roots, grass and natural trails as well as urban streets that may be busy with local traffic. Walking surfaces may be irregular, damaged, or slippery in places. Archaeological sites often have uneven, steep steps without handrails, and some involve navigating dark, narrow corridors and staircases and ducking through small entryways
Most transportation will be in vans or minibuses
Travel to and from Wadi El-Rayan and Wadi El-Hitan will be in 4x4 vehicles over sand in bumpy, sometimes rough terrain
This trip includes 2 commercial flights; travelers are responsible for managing their own carry-on luggage through busy airports and will need to climb stairs to board planes
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs or walkers
Travelers using canes must be physically independent or travel with a companion who can assist them
Daytime temps can range from 70–100°, depending on season and location
Nighttime temps range from 65–85°F
