Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Trip Pace
Two 1-night stays bookending 3 nights at rustic whale camp
Two long transfer days between Loreto and Whale Camp (about 6-7 hours each day)
This trip is not strenuous, but travelers must wade in shallow water, get in and out of skiffs and sit for long periods while whale watching
There is no hiking at whale camp; beach walks are flat but on varied terrain such as thick seashells and slick, moss-covered rocks
Travel by taxis, coach bus and 15-passenger vans
At whale camp, travelers ride in small, open fiberglass pangas with bench seats and no cover
Whale watching rides can be bumpy, wet and last several hours; boats do not return early for seasickness or discomfort. Travelers may opt out and stay at camp (no alternate activity)
Drive to whale camp includes hairpin turns, curvy roads and 30 minutes on a washboard dirt road; not recommended for those with motion sickness or vertigo
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs or walkers
Travelers using canes must be physically independent or travel with a companion who can assist them
Travelers must have good balance and mobility
While in San Ignacio Lagoon, there are no nearby medical facilities, and access to medical care may be significantly delayed in an emergency
Daytime temps range from low 50s – high 70s °F
The nights are usually mild but can occasionally dip into the low 40s
Expect a mix of sun, wind and occasional rain, with variable conditions day to day
