Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Cultural differences, language barriers, and crowds may contribute to travel fatigue
Travelers must be able to walk 3 miles unassisted along a variety of terrain, including hills and stairs, and should expect to walk a total of 5-8 miles per day
Walks range from 1-4 miles each; travelers should expect 3-6 hours of physical activity on several days
Most hikes are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation, but walking through panda bases, cities, and train stations can involve navigating crowds and busy staircases
Terrain includes uneven, unpaved forest trails, elevated boardwalks, stairs and hills
For hikes longer than 3 miles, shorter alternatives will be available, but this is the minimum walking ability required to visit the panda bases in full
Longer hikes will be offered for more active travelers at some locations
Travel by bus, coaster van, high-speed train and electric cart
Vehicle seats may feel small to some travelers, as they are designed to local size standards
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
This trip involves extended periods of standing without access to seating
In some locations, only squat toilets are available, which may require good balance and lower-body strength. Nat Hab provides a portable stool to assist
Daytime temps range from 45–85°F, depending on season and location
Overnight temps are cooler, especially at higher elevations
Rain, wind, and snow are possible in both spring and fall
Travelers should be prepared for all four seasons in a single day at higher elevations
Spend 3 days/2 nights at 10,000–12,000 feet elevation in Rilong
