Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in India’s capital before your journey into tiger country

  • Settle into the landmark Taj Mahal Hotel in leafy Lutyens’ Delhi

Day 2: Explore Delhi’s sacred spaces and historic architecture

  • Visit luminous Bangla Sahib and learn about the Sikh tradition of serving free community meals

  • Explore the descending arches of Agrasen ki Baoli stepwell

Day 3: Enter one of India’s richest Bengal tiger reserves

  • Fly south to Nagpur, then continue by road to Tadoba National Park

  • Search for Bengal tigers in a reserve known for its dense population

  • Settle into Waghoba Ecolodge on the edge of the reserve

Days 4 to 6: Track Bengal tigers through Tadoba’s teak forests and grasslands

  • Set out before sunrise and again in the afternoon with seasoned guides

  • Watch for sloth bears, dholes, gaur and other woodland wildlife

  • Take a dip in the pool and observe birds from the lodge’s comfortable hide

Day 7: Leave tiger country for homeward flights from Delhi

  • Drive to Nagpur after a final morning near Tadoba

  • Fly to Delhi and connect with homeward flights

Please Note: National parks in Central India close their core zones on Tuesdays and typically close entirely for Holi, which generally falls in March. If any portion of our visit to Tadoba coincides with a Tuesday closure, scheduled safaris will take place in the park’s buffer zone, which is equally scenic and productive for wildlife viewing. If closures occur for Holi, alternate activities will be arranged in place of scheduled safari(s).
