Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Three long transfer days (6+ hours)
Two internal flights, including a layover on Day 3
Some early mornings and long, hot days, with occasional midday rest periods
Travelers must be able to walk 1 mile unassisted and should expect to walk a total of 2-3 miles per day
Walks range from 1-3 miles each; travelers should expect 1-3 hours of physical activity on most days in oppressive heat
Most walks are at a leisurely pace with guided interpretation and photo opportunities
Terrain includes uneven, unpaved forest trails and many elevated boardwalks
For walks longer than 1 mile, shorter alternatives are available; longer hikes will be offered for more active travelers while in Danum Valley
Travel by large bus, coaster van, 4x4 SUV and boat

Four long days on 8-seat open-top boats with no shade
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Travelers must have good balance and mobility
Daytime temps range from 86–90°F year-round with around 90% humidity
Overnight temps remain warm and humid
Rain is possible year-round
Heat and humidity can create challenging, draining conditions for many travelers
