Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Early mornings and some late evenings are scheduled to allow maximum time for wildlife viewing
One day includes approximately four hours of combined overland and air travel
Travelers must be able to walk at least 1 mile unassisted over rough terrain, and will get the most out of this safari if they can walk at least 2 miles over steep, uneven terrain without assistance
Walking over rocky terrain in search of rhinos may be challenging for some
More active travelers may climb the sand dunes at Sossusvlei—the most strenuous activity on this trip—while moderate, flatter walks are also available to enjoy the dunes. Other walking opportunities are limited due to the presence of wildlife
Travelers must walk up and down stairs to board small planes
Terrain includes gravel, pavement, boardwalk, soft sand, dirt and uneven ground, often navigated by flashlight after dark
Wildlife drives take place in high-profile 4x4 safari vehicles on rough off-road and dirt terrain with rocks, ruts and potholes
Travelers must be able to climb in and out of vehicles using balance and upper body strength
Travel between camps by small bush plane
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Bush camps are located in remote areas without nearby medical facilities, and emergency medical evacuation may not be possible until daylight hours
Daytime temps range from 60–115°F, depending on season and location
Overnight temps can drop below freezing
Maximum altitude reached is approximately 5,000 feet
