Approximately 10 Travelers
A very important feature of our Brazil ecotourism adventure is the limited group size, as nature encounters are best experienced in the quiet, intimate, low-impact context of a small groups of travelers. Our Brazil Pantanal adventure welcomes a maximum of 11 travelers.

Our Private Leaders
While this trip does not require a substantial degree of physical fitness, in order to participate fully in this itinerary, guests should be able to undertake several walks and hikes that are typically two to three miles in length, over mostly flat and dry but sometimes uneven terrain. The longest walk is in the Pantanal, three miles over flat terrain. Brazil can be very hot and humid, and guests will often spend several hours at a stretch on walks, drives or boat rides. Sturdy walking shoes with good traction are recommended. All activities are optional.
Important Information About This Trip
When reviewing the trip itinerary, please note a slight variation for 2019 departures. In 2019, on Day 10 the group will drive from Caiman Ecological Refuge to Campo Grande after a morning activity on the refuge. But instead of flying together to Sao Paulo that evening (since it’s impossible to connect to flights home), the group will spend the night at a hotel in Campo Grande and have dinner together. The next day (Day 11—a new addition), guests may leave at any time to fly home or onward to the Iguazu extension. The primary difference from the 2018 itinerary is that there will be no group flight to Sao Paulo—travelers will arrange that flight (and onward connections) independently or with the assistance of Nat Hab's air department.
Since the areas you will travel to on this trip are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require medical evacuation insurance for this program. If you decline the medical evacuation insurance coverage offered by Natural Habitat Adventures (NHA), we require that you send us documentation of the independent coverage you have selected. We recommend that your chosen independent insurance plan includes at least $250,000 in medical evacuation coverage. Please note that we will add the cost of NHA's medical evacuation policy (currently $48 per person) to your tour invoice until you provide our office with proof of coverage including your insurance company's name, phone number and your individual policy number. Thank you for understanding that our policy exists exclusively in the interest of our guests' safety.
To protect your investment and to provide peace of mind while you travel, we also strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance. Plans may cover everything from medical treatment to trip cancellations and delays and lost luggage. Please contact our office if you would like more information about the medical evacuation and comprehensive travel insurance policies we offer by calling 800-543-8917.
