Katrina Rosen

After Katrina and her husband cycled around the world on an epic 13-month adventure, they moved to Canmore, Alberta, to raise their son, Zion, in the Canadian Rockies. You're likely to hear Katrina convincing Zion that cross-country skiing is just as fun as downhill skiing, and he is learning that it is perfectly normal to bike or backpack through the forest in the middle of winter. As a family, they have cycled across Europe, paddled for a month in the Canadian wilderness, and spent many nights in a tent among bears.
Immersing herself for days on end in remote places, Katrina fosters a deep comprehension of ecosystems, geography and drastic changes she is observing in the wild lands she is in love with. Her even greater passion is sharing that understanding with others as she introduces her guests to Canada's natural history, wildlife and captivating landscapes. She is certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, a graduate of Mountain Skills, a published author, and a past board member of the Interpretive Guides Association — and she is ever passionate about continuing her learning. Though you'll rarely find her indoors, when you do, Katrina is likely to be curled up by the fire with a cup of coffee, studying maps, fostering her addiction to both coffee and adventure.
