Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Occasional options for longer hiking distances are available
Trails are uneven and often muddy, but are generally not steep and at low elevation
Travel by private minibuses, boat excursions in Tortuguero, private charter flights, and one boat ride on Lake Arenal
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids
Travelers must be fully mobile and physically independent.
Travelers must have good balance and be able to navigate uneven trails with some occasional inclines
Daytime temps range from 75–90°F with high humidity
Overnight temps are slightly cooler, especially in Monteverde
Sun can be intense; activities are often scheduled for mornings and late afternoons
Rain possible year-round
Monteverde elevation: ~5,000 feet
