Latin America
For a relatively small country, Costa Rica offers remarkably rich wildlife and nature opportunities. Anyone with an eye trained on eco-friendly, conservation-minded travel and rainforest adventures has likely considered a trip to this lush Central American nation.
African Safaris
A trip to the rainforest is filled with interesting possibilities for adventure, whether through cultural exchange, photography, fishing, hiking, birding or wildlife spotting. But not all rainforests are the same! Some are hot and humid and filled with colorful orchids, while others are cool and misty and packed with prehistoric ferns.
Conservation
Costa Rica is known for its natural beauty, advancements in sustainability and conservation, and vast wildlife viewing opportunities. While all these things struck me, what was most inspiring to me was hearing the stories of those who call Costa Rica home.
Nature Photography
Every Friday, we choose our favorite photo of the week from our Wildlife Photo of the Day website. This week we selected a quetzal in Costa Rica. Photographer Ling Yoong saw this breathtaking bird while walking through the cloud forest of Cerro de la Muerte. Have you taken some amazing wildlife photos during your travels?

Nature & Wildlife
Costa Rica is literally rich. In wildlife. This tiny country has built up an incredible reputation as a sustainable destination founded on the idea that its natural resources are to be valued in theory and practice. By protecting these resources, Costa Rica’s people have also benefited.
Nature & Wildlife
Thankfully, the country of Costa Rica recognized the gift of its incredible biodiversity early on, and began protecting it with an extensive network of national parks, wildlife refuges and biological reserves. Our four Costa Rica itineraries visit numerous protected areas; here are just five of our favorite.
