Physical Requirements
At Nat Hab, we provide access to some of the most wondrous nature encounters the world has to offer. Many take place in destinations that are wild and remote, with varying physical demands and limited medical facilities. All trips may not be suitable for every traveler. In order to participate in this itinerary, travelers must comfortably and reliably be able to execute all physical requirements as noted below.

Hikes typically range between 1-3 miles with some longer options available for more active travelers
Travelers should be prepared to walk a combined total of 4-7 miles on some days
Terrain includes uneven, unpaved trails, sand, stairs, grassy plains, and hills
Hiking in the West Altai region may be over uneven areas with ice or snow, large rocks, loose gravel, and steep and narrow sections of the trail
Travel by Land Cruisers, private Cessna charters, and commercial flights
Most roads in Mongolia's remote lands are unpaved, unmarked tracks; it is common to drive over dirt, sand, shrubs, uneven rocks, mounds, small creeks, or pass through herds of livestock and Nomadic herders
Driving in West Altai will involve narrow, winding mountain roads with sheer drop-offs
Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers or canes
Travelers must be fully mobile and physically independent
While at our remote ger camps, there are no nearby medical facilities, and access to medical care may be significantly delayed in an emergency
During extended outings in the field or on long transfers, restroom facilities may be limited. When facilities are not available, your driver will arrange appropriate breaks along the way
Periods of limited to no cell service or internet access
Daytime temps range from 45–85°F, depending on location
Overnight temps are cooler, especially at higher elevations
Rain, wind, and snow are possible
Travelers should be prepared for all four seasons in a single day at higher elevations
Three nights at 5,200 feet elevation in West Altai
Four days of activities in elevation ranging between 5,000-7,000 feet
One drive will reach elevation of 12,000 feet
